Portrait II.

This is the second tapestry from the series which highlights the diversification of women and their life stories. In this particular tapestry there is a picture of a woman who had to leave her children in her home country for work in the West. When I was drawing her I tried to express her feelings into the picture. Both tapestries in this series are of a similar size and have a neutral beige background, from which the picture appears to rise. The focal points of both tapestries are purposely set below the centre and their shapes can be interpreted as two triangles lying against each other.

Dimensions of the work: height 184 cm, width 138 cm.
Woven in 2018 for the duration of 6 months.
